Hilos, not challenges
On hilo.fans you earn by carrying something on, not by raising the stakes. These guidelines apply to hilos, contributions, aliases and messages.
Do
- Carry the story on, answer the question, add your version.
- Give credit: if your contribution builds on someone else's, say so.
- Respect the creator's decision about what joins their line.
- Report anything that puts someone at risk.
Don't
- Challenges, dares or bets involving physical, legal or emotional risk.
- Sexually explicit content or sexualisation of minors.
- Harassment, threats, hate or sharing other people's personal data.
- Impersonating someone or using misleading aliases.
- Asking for payment in exchange for doing something dangerous or humiliating.
- Spam, scams or manipulating tips, fares or passes.
For creators
- You decide which contributions join your hilo and can close it at any time.
- Don't design hilos that reward the most extreme contribution.
- If you charge a pass, deliver what your line offers.
What happens when rules are broken
Depending on severity, we remove content, restrict features, or suspend or close the account. We explain why, and you can appeal. If someone's life or safety is at risk, we alert the authorities.
How to report
Every hilo and every contribution will have a report option. For private content, reporting means voluntarily sending us a decrypted copy so we can review it.
